About Brickell

Brickell is an urban and metropolitan neighborhood of greater Downtown Miami, Florida. Known for dense, high-rise residential buildings, with many luxury, upscale condominiums and apartment towers, Brickell is an affluent and an extremely sought-after place to live. Originally settled and pioneered by William Brickell and his family in the mid 1800’s, Brickell has grown tremendously, especially throughout the 1980’s. Today, Brickell is home to the largest assemblage of international banks in the United States. As South Florida’s principle financial district, Brickell is the core of Miami’s investment, banking, and financial sectors. Although Brickell is noted for its increasingly cosmopolitan lifestyle, around 31,759 residents call this neighborhood their permanent residence. Many of the states foreign consultants also reside in Brickell.

The overarching design of this neighborhood runs perpendicular between south and east Brickell. The area of Brickell south of Broadway is constructed to be low and mid-rise residential buildings, while the region to the east of Brickell Avenue is adorned with high-rise residential buildings. One of the most prestigious living areas in Brickell is Millionaires Row, which is home to Miami’s most exclusive apartment and condos. At the center of Brickell lies Mary Brickell Village, which serves as a high class commercial area due to its charming boutiques and world-class restaurants.

To the north of Brickell is Downtown, which houses most of the areas educational schools, facilities, and College. Downtown is also home to The Miami Main Library, theatres, parks, sporting venues and various museums. In the last several years, Brickell’s reputation for its club scene has made it an up and coming nightlife destination due to new, modern and upscale clubs, dining facilities and entertainment venues.

Often referred to as the Manhattan of the south, Brickell serves as the perfect get away destination. Sophisticated condominiums, lavish hotels, decadent restaurants, outstanding schooling systems, prime location, scenic views, and a temperate climate all attribute to Brickell’s immense appeal and high-class lifestyle.
